Subsea Rock Caverns, Singapore

NORPLAN’s partner Multiconsult develops underground caverns for storage in Singapore.

Limited availability of land will always remain a key constraint on the economic and social development of Singapore. As a result, using underground space has become an attractive option. Singapore is building a series of vast underground caverns for storing oil and refined hydrocarbons. A Norwegian-Singaporean Consortium, the Sintef-Tritech-Multiconsult (STM) will be responsible for project management, technical review and advice for all of the project phases. NORPLAN’s partner Multiconsult is one of the key partners in the consortium.
