This sector is at the heart of our drive to further extend our involvement in sustainable development projects. Renewable energies - such as hydropower and wind power - are environmentally friendly and provide long-term solutions to both the local community and wider society.
Renewable Energy
We pride ourselves on our renewable energy expertise – and will continue to develop clean renewable energy wherever possible and in a sustainable manner. By combining the technical, economic, environmental and social expertise we have in house, we bring a powerful force to every aspect of the renewables equation. Our know-ledge of hydroelectric planning and development stretches back almost 100 years and includes projects as far afield as Tanzania, Dominican Republic, Bhutan and Chile.
Climate Change Policy
NORPLAN assists its clients in several ways to deal with international climate change policies. We offer strategic advice and facilitate CDM and JI emission reduction projects by providing our clients with technical assistance, risk assessment and due diligence.
Transmission and Distributions
Renewable energy projects cannot work in isolation – they are usually part of a wider energy scheme, such as providing access to electricity. For this reason NORPLAN offers an extensive range of solutions that can combine hydroelectric, renewable energy and grid connection in the most effective manner. We provide industry-leading knowledge when it comes to planning, design and construction of energy generation, transmission and distribution.
Natural Resources
Working hand-in-hand with our renewable energy services are our offer concerning natural resource management. Never has there been such pressure on our planet's natural resources – but there is also a growing realisation that a new approach is needed. Resources must be managed with consideration to both their environmental and social impact. At NORPLAN, our extensive experience in this field has led to our involvement in many natural resource management projects around the world – from Laos to Uganda.
NORPLAN's Natural resource management specialists cover a wide variety of disciplines, like water resource management, which covers such activities as river basin management and modelling, international rivers management and flood monitoring and control, land use planning and environmental impact assessments (EIA).
Impact Assessments
We don't just confine ourselves to the physical implement of these schemes – as important to us are the social elements. We have widespread experience in carry out feasibility studies including environmental, economic and social impact assessments – undertaken before, during and after the completion of projects.
